The 8 Worst Signings in Recent Sports History

These guys took playing hard in a contract year to the next level...

1. Albert Haynesworth

Contract Details: 7 years, $100 million to the Washington Redskins

Albert Haynesworth pretty much ruined any chances of 300 pound players getting big money extensions again. With his laziness and his attitude, the Redskins immediately regretted having him on the team at all, let alone for a price almost as hefty as the man himself.

2. Pablo Sandoval

Contract Details: 5 years, $95 million

Pablo's entire stint as a Red Sock is described in the picture above, lack of motivation and a massive weight gain, led to the demise of the beloved "Kung Fu Panda"

3. Daisuke Matsuzaka

Contract Details: $51.11 milion just to talk to him! and then a 6 year, $52 million contract on top of that

Daisuke was an interesting foreign prospect for Boston, and looked like a steal his first two seasons in, finishing 4th in Cy Young voting in his second major league season...But then shit hit the fan, he could never return to form and this looks like a terrible mistake of a contract.

4. Joakim Noah

Contract Details: 4 years, $72.59 million

Joakim Noah was once a valuable asset to the Chicago Bulls, but then he came to New York and under performed. So Phil Jackson rewarded his man with a handsome contract. As the Knicks continue to subtly improve, this weight of a contract will hold them back for the next 2+ seasons.

5. Joe Flacco

Contract Details: 3 years, $66.4 million plus a $40 million signing bonus

The question of Elite or Not for Flacco is strictly due to his contract.... he is NOT ELITE!

6. Matt Flynn

Contract Details: 3 years, $26 million

For the case of Matt Flynn, it is simply a career backup getting his chance...only to lose his job to a rookie you guys may have heard of names Russell Wilson. Lets just say the Seahawks could have used this money a little bit more wisely.

7. Mike Glennon

Contract Details: 3 years, $45 million plus a $3 million signing bonus

Also know as Pinhead Larry, Glennon makes out like a bandit getting paid handsomely by a quarterback DESPERATE Chicago Bears squad, only to lose his job to rookie Mitchell Trubisky after going 1-3 in the first 4 games of year 1 of this deal.

8. Josh Hamilton

Contract Details: 5 years, $125 million

Josh is the most talented player on this list in my eyes, when he played for the Rangers. Any other team could not provide Hamilton the comfort level he needed to be able to focus on the game, its honestly a shame.
